An original oil painting by an unknown Swedish artist working in the mid-20th Century.
A medium to large oil painting, signed and dated 1948. A really robust, thick impasto technique, I can't see a single brush stroke on the surface, just fingers and wooden implements in the paint. Very satisfying and a good strong colour and scale. The frame is solid with some gilt loss at the corners, probably dating later than the painting but a good overall visual package.
