Fabian Lundqvist (1913-1989) ‘Fruit Pickers’

An original oil painting by  Swedish artist Fabian Lundqvist (1913-89).

Now one of the best known and certainly most sought after of the Mid-century Swedish painters at this market level. He has an instantly recognisable modernist style that seems made for the current taste for mid-century modern designed interiors. This is a motif he often returns to, workers in a field or an orchard somewhere in southern Europe, a whitewashed hacienda in the distance. This is a later work, probably late 1960s/70s.
