Mid Century Oil Paintings

Start date Friday, 1 July 2022 End date Wednesday, 13 July 2022

I've been itching to start an auction side to P & H Decorative for a number of years but only recently has the software come available at our modest end of the market. The lovely people at Snoofa have made it possible and more importantly, financially feasible, to pick up a digital gavel.

No doubt our first stumbling attempts will go unnoticed but as Pilar was quick to point out, our first e-catalogues were a total flop and now we couldn't survive without them. We begin with a dozen paintings - eleven Nordics and a Mod Brit portrait - all chosen to give a bit of variety and visual pleasure at what we consider an affordable price. All have been offered at significantly more than estimate over the last year or so on our website and it is time for them to move on to new pastures - even at cost or less.

The paintings are all available to view in our Cecil Court gallery and of course Pilar is happy to provide further photographs on request.

How to Bid

To participate in the auction as a bidder you will need to complete your registration.

This involves creating an account by clicking here or by clicking the Login/Register button in the top right-hand side of this screen.

You will then be able to access your Client Zone and complete the verification steps which are required for bidding. This is a very quick process which involves submitting your address and verifying your phone number and a card.

Be sure to complete this in plenty of time before the auction to avoid any complications.

We hope you enjoy the auction! The lots will begin closing at 5pm BST on Wednesday 13th July.

Important Notice
This is a timed auction, with all bidding taking place via these online pages. There is no auctioneer. Each lot has its own scheduled end time (indicated next to each lot). If a bid is placed in the last few minutes before the lot end time, the clock will extend by two minutes to allow bidding to continue.

The best way to bid is to place the maximum you would be willing to spend and let the computer do the rest. If no one else places a bid, you will win the lot for the reserve. If other bids are placed, the system will raise your bid amount to the increment above the next highest bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded. This is called proxy bidding. You will receive emails when your bid has increased in value or when you have been outbid.
