Bengt Hillgrund (1935-1981) ‘Nordic Farm'

Another well known Swedish painter from the last half century, we have sold over a hundred Hillgrunds over the last decade and his Barns are by far the most popular of his subjects - those distinctive deep Swedish rooves add an abstract, almost monolithic element to his otherwise flat landscapes. This is one of the best we've had and would normally be in the gallery window but I'm curious to see whether our growing auction audience agrees with me.
