20th Century Swedish School 'Abstract Sails'
Bidding ended. Lot is unsold.
A typical Mid-century painting - the artist is clearly more interested in the design than the subject. Artists of the period were particularly fond of boats in harbours and drying nets on poles as both provided a natural abstract design of verticals and curves, the compositional building blocks of pure abstraction that many then progressed to.
