Edgar Wallin (1892-1963) ‘Continental Street’

One of the finest quality paintings in the auction, a nostalgic view of a European town before the War. The street is peacefully deserted apart from an abandoned hand cart, although the sky looks blue with daylight, the lit overhanging gas lamps suggest it is a Nordic twilight.
