One of those Modern British artists whose early promise in the post-war British art scene failed to blossom into the fame and success of some of his contemporaries. As with many artists of the period, he still waits to be plucked from obscurity by some Tate researcher.

He studied at the Royal College of Art from 1950 to 1953, where his teachers included Ruskin Spear and John Minton. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Young Contemporaries, Beaux Arts Gallery, Leicester Galleries and one-man shows notably included the Redfern Gallery in 1950s.

We have sold a few of his works over the last thirty years and always keep an eye out for them. This beach is painted during his early successful period and is a very affordable way to buy a British painting of this quality from this period.
