A well listed Swedish painter who was best known for painting scantily clad peasant girls in sunny island landscapes, this is a more traditional and great aunt friendly work by Ljungqvist. He is represented in both the Swedish National Museum and Swedish Modern Art Museum as well as the Museums of Gothenburg, Kalmar, Norrköping, Borås, Bergen and Linköping.
