If a bid is placed in the last few minutes before the lot end time, the clock will extend by two minutes to allow bidding to continue.

The best way to bid is to place the maximum you would be willing to spend and let the computer do the rest. If no one else places a bid, you will win the lot for the reserve. If other bids are placed, the system will raise your bid amount to the increment above the next highest bid, until your maximum bid is exceeded. This is called proxy bidding. A charming period piece, very much of the 1950s and 60s, I particularly like the mademoiselle in the foreground sporting a jaunty yellow hat and pencil skirt.

Lots of texture in this, you can feel the enjoyment the painter had in moving the paint around the canvas.
