There is something very Zen like in the quiet concentration with which this solitary fisherman sits mending his nets.

The artist has set up his easel on a calm sunny day in a fishing community on the Swedish coast. Loosely painted in oils, it always amazes me what can be conveyed visually by a few strokes of oil paint.

Probably in the 1960s or early 70s judging by the frame style, although an off the shelf or 'chop' moulding it would have been one of the most expensive framing options in its day.
